Do you know an outstanding educator?


If so, please use this form to nominate this special person for a Capital Educators' Award.
The community will be honouring these educational heroes at a gala evening and awards ceremony on May 17, 2012 at Algonquin College - Woodroffe Campus. Up to sixteen local educators will be selected from up to 66 finalists. Award recipients will be announced at the gala.

Award Criteria
The Award is open to currently practising educators in an elementary, secondary or post-secondary publicly-funded educational institution. The nominee must currently (at the time of nomination) have classroom teaching responsibilities and be employed by one of the official partner institutions .

Selections will be based on how well nominees meet the following criteria:
Excellence in teaching.

The educator:
Has made a demonstrated impact on student learning;
Instills confidence and a passion for learning in their students and for their subject or discipline;
Uses innovative teaching strategies;
Creates a positive learning environment for their students.
Acts as a positive role model and/or has made a difference in someone's life.
Please note that past Capital Educators' Award recipients are not eligible – previous award winners are listed here. Nominations close at 4:00 PM March 2, 2012.
